The Sky Is Falling!!!
The Sky Is Falling!!!
The Sky is Falling!!!
The
storm came, and went. About 8 inches of snow fell Saturday, adding to
the 2 inches or so that was left of what fell Wednesday. Definitely
a manageable amount, although the way most of Maryland reacts to
a snowfall in excess of 1/8micron
means that every human life is in imminent peril and every household
will be locked away from air and sunlight until The Spring Thaw. I
didn't know that Henny Penny wore Mud jeans, Nike sneakers or used
White Cloud ...*Its So Dreaaammmmyyy*.
Marylanders
are such wusses when it comes to snowfall . I keep trying to convince
people that if those that live in the Northeast, and those that live in
the Great Lakes region can handle getting this much snow almost weekly,
well heck YA we can handle this pitiful 8 inch snowfall. They just
glare at me glassy-eyed, hug their Ultrahugemegapack of toilet paper
tighter and continue their dire predictions as to the fate of "life as we know it should The Big One hit".Yeah. Ok. Whateva. *rolling eyes*
Yesterday we headed out in what turned out to be the thick of the storm
*not that we realized that BEFORE we were a mile away from the house*
to take Brenna to spend the night at a friend's house. Oy the roads!
The snow was falling so heavily that the plows couldn't keep up with
it, the roads were 5+ inches of slippery, slushy gack that continually
kicked gerb onto the windshield which almost immediately froze into
ya-can't-see-through-the-windshield-worth-crap-to-drive-gerb/gack.
If
there is need to freak out about something, all to continue the long
standing tradition of stupiddumnMarylanddriversthatcantdrive THAT
would be
the thing. The very real possibility of becoming part of a
SUV-Oldsmobile-18 Wheeler goo sandwich is a wee bit
daunting. Thankfully we can say
we skipped that addition to our diets.Today
the winds have been blowing and moaning so much as to look to be
snowing once more. Wind gusts reaching hurricane force
have made the streets *and our 150 foot long driveway* a messy,
slippery obstacle course . Every time I walk past a window in the front
of the house I get to see the yahoos that live at the end of the block
speed down the hill and fishtail madly as they "take" the corner. I have a vision in my mind of one of those obviously highly intelligent and oh-so-careful * insert extreme sarcasm here XXXX * truck and
SUV
drivin' good ole boys to roll, swing or flip, taking out our white
birch *noooo she's just a baby, pleeeez* or one of the 6
red leaf Japanese mapleswe planted and have been nurturing the past four years.
Ah..ya gotta love that there redneck ...or 20...30...48.
I have lost count of the squealing wheels. I just hope I don't
awaken one night to a "YEEEE HAWWWWWWW" followed by ^crash, slam,
snap hissssssssss^.
There are many that fall out of the
stupid tree
and hit every branch on the way down.
Til later...
~Kathie

Thanks for joing my site.. Your photos are awesome.. your house.. is one I would want... but.. due to our finances theres no way we could afford anytime of fixer up or aged home.. so we fortunately found a house not too old (a bit small now that we have 3 kiddos tho!).. and I feel blessed to be outta a rented apartment with loud neighbors!!!
I can't help but wonder what attracted you to come read my place but i hope I encourage you to stay. Looking forward to getting to know you better!!!
We had some snow but, nothing like what you are talking about.
Stay safe and warm
Blessing.......................Shellie
Can I steal that 'stoopid tree' thang. I *really* REALLY needed that laugh this morning.
No snow down here in GA yet this year. People freak out down here if there is ANY snow or ice (my parents are from PA), but the thing is, we don't have the plows, bad-weather tires, etc to deal with good wintery weather, so everyone just stays home. . .I still remember getting stuck once when I was a little girl w/ my fam. The snow came on quickly, while we were visiting friends. . .Anyway, a guy in a 4-wheel drive truck rescued us and took us home-- good Samaritan.
The problem in Wisconsin, however, is that no one takes any snow we get unless it is a foot above seriously and drive on the roads like a bunch of screaming banchees - - and end up in the ditch!
Ohmygoshshsh! U crack me up! It's always a blast visiting your site... thanks for the laugh!

Hey, I noticed you subed me. Welcome to my site. It is not as nice as yours though. Nice photos. You guys got a bit more snow then we did. Hopefully ours will be melting soon so life can get back to normal.
Wow! What great photos! You have a really nice site!
Have a wonderful day!
ryc: Yeah, it is ridiculous how Simon took those triplets to task...but you made a good point....they know he is heartless and should know better than to think they'd get a fair break.....but that still does not excuse his rudeness...but I guess that's why we watch the show..to see his brutal, and sometimes very accurate honesty on display.....have a great day...and the snow sounds horrible!!!!
RYC: I totally agree with you in the whole relationship v religion argument. It is something I believe very, very strongly in. In some sort of twisted way, I am thankful that the incident that happened did. It allowed me to see I was worshipping a church and not God.
Love your pics of all the snow. Heard it dumped on alot of people. Enjoy it whjile you have it. Great excuse to stay home and do a crafty thing or drink something hot. We had some butit was short lived. Kids piled it all into a snowman and then it was gone. :warped: Have a good cold white season.
Kathie Darling,
Thank you for your comments on my page. It's always nice to see. I am loving your pictures. I should scan some more of mine...we'll see if I ever get around to that...*smiles* Anyway feel free to brouse around my site anytime. Much love, Amy**
yeah, in wisconsin, we have to get at least two feet for anything to shut down. That or it needs to be incredibly icy.
I'm so thankful we haven't gotten any real snow here. There is no way I would go out in that mess! Hope you are having a great Wednesday!
Eight inches of snow sounds like a lot to me.....but, I live in a state where just the hint of snow will shut us down for a week.
thank you for your comments, and prayers. I really need them. hugs-tiff
Love your pictures! We got between 15 and 20 inches over the weekend. I am looking forward to the hot summer!!! Have a great night, ~~ Suzanne
Thank you for the encouragement on my site. I love your pictures, did you take them?
thanks for all your sweet comments! so far I have just loved being pregnant!
Yah, thats what the roads have been like here too! Yucky, slushy brown snow! There was something about a salt shortage on the news last night so maybe thats why there were no plows out yesterday when we were getting another 6-8 inches dumped on us! Oh well....thats life in New England!
Just stopped by to thank you for subbing.
I know all about snow, being Canadian and all..though I'm still trying to figure out how many centimetres 8 inches amounts to..
Thank you sooo much for your comment. I too, and like you in the respect that when I get mad at someone it's usually a cuss word that comes out of my mouth...it's very rare, if at all that a racial one does....but that'll not happen again after my change of heart....hope all is well and that things are thawing out!
